who we are + our values
Fig Tree was created as a sanctuary for connection — a place to come home to yourself. We are an inclusive space for people of all identities, backgrounds, and body types to explore and connect with themselves, as well as a community. Our classes, workshops, pop-ups, and events are all centered around basic themes of self-discovery, exploration, and feeling. Our mission is to create a warm and uplifting space where every person feels safe, held, and inspired.
Fig Tree is a proud stripper-owned studio and a space free of judgement and censorship for sex workers. Many of our instructors are current or former strippers and sex workers, and we offer support groups, industry-specific events and resources, and sex-worker discounts. We believe in not only acknowledging, but embracing pole dancing’s roots in sex work, and it’s creation by Black sex workers.
